The Sooke School District provides a number of supporting and counselling services. If you would like more information about these programs, please feel free to contact the main office or a school counsellor.
A school based counsellor is assigned to École John Stubbs Memorial School. The duties range from school based intervention, parental request, student initiated meeting, or other involved agencies.
Hearing Impaired Program
District specialist provides assistance and extra instruction to students with severe hearing impairment.
Home Bound Program
The school district will provide home instruction for those students unable to attend school for extended periods of time.
A district psychometrician provides assessment for students who require evaluation beyond that done by the school’s learning assistant teacher.
Professional speech therapy is available from a district specialist.
Some Literacy Support is provided to students whose learning needs cannot be adequately met in the regular classroom setting in one or more areas.
